History

While the concept of Indivar incubated for over a decade, it was launched in 2021. Indivar means “Blue Lotus” in Sanskrit. Lotuses bloom in their full glory despite being rooted in muddy waters. Lotuses are also significant in Egyptian mythology. At Heliopolis, the origin of the world was thought to have been when the sun god Ra emerged from a lotus flower growing in primordial waters. Similarly, we humans have the potential to display the magnificence of our true nature as we rise towards the symbolic sun (wisdom) within us regardless of where we come from.

Vision, Mission and Values

Vision

Focus and inspire personal transformation to have a positive impact on the world.

Mission

Build an inclusive community to support the integration of mind, body and lifeforce.

Values

Our four values of Compassion, Integration, Elegance and Community are grounded in a philosophy that prepares the groundwork for focus and personal transformation to positively impact the world around us. It is inspired by both the ancient wisdom of yoga and practical applications in the modern world. We’ve connected the root words in Sanskrit for all values with modern English meaning and applications.

Compassion

Our first value is inspired by the concept of “karuna” in yoga, which translates from its Sanskrit roots to mean kindness. Offering up kindness to self and others is fundamental to taking chances, making mistakes, and creating a healthy environment for growth. Being curious with a sense of non-judgment allows understanding alternate perspectives and phenomena. Attending to and accepting the present moment without judgment is the essence of mindfulness. It allows us to debate with respect, listen deeply and to be inclusive. It propels us to open our minds and value science. Finally, a mindful “pause” to own and accept without judgment is grounding.

Integration

Our second value, is propelled by the concept of “yug,” which means union and is the root word for Yoga. Yoga is much more than moving into seemingly impossible poses or asanas. The eight limbs of yoga provide the philosophy and methodology to allow the integration of body, mind and lifeforce (prana). It propels us to connect to our true timeless nature, beyond the noise of everyday living. It brings balance and peace in our lives. From stillness comes clarify. It moves us towards flexibility and fortifies our core.

Elegance

Our third value is born from an awe of nature, “saundarya” translates to beauty or elegance. All of nature inspires us with the outcome of creation’s play. Simple, magnificent, diverse, functional, and symbiotic. The effortless elegance of nature moves our creative efforts. It fosters respect for nature and our environment. It guides us to value diversity and innovative pursuits. Thus, we find ourselves valuing the art of science and science of art.

Community

Finally, our fourth value acknowledges the power of many, “sangha” translates to community. Alone we struggle, together we triumph. Supporting each other’s creative and individual pursuits we find purpose in life. We are united in the common goal of connecting to our true essence. We believe in allowing space for people of diverse faiths or lifestyles to find comfort and peace in their chosen path. Lifting each other up and selflessly sharing our light or wisdom with others can make this a better world. Giving to the community and sharing abundance without expectation can ground us in the act of gaining versus losing.
